Why I Choose to Work at Nova

Initially, I chose Nova for the immersion into classical culture for my children. I loved the continuity of historical periods reaching across subject domains. The strong values curriculum was also compelling to me as a parent. Professionally, I’ve always had a great passion for reading and believe wholeheartedly in the possibilities of each child. I love combining reading research to the application of supporting readers.

Hobbies/Interests

When not spending time with my family, I love gardening, especially creating edible landscapes. I love to escape to the woods of Wisconsin with a good book, and a half-finished knitting project.

Favorite Books

Many of my favorites are in the curriculum taught at Nova. Jane Austen, Emily Dickinson, Willa Cather are among my favorites.

Favorite Quote

“There is no Frigate like a book to take us Lands away.”
