Why I Choose to Work at Nova
The children. Each and every day at Nova, I see a scholar use his or her virtues to better the lives of those around them. This kind of school wide community is astounding. You simply don’t see that in other schools.
Hobbies/Interests
I enjoy walking, yoga, swimming, reading, learning, and spending time with my friends and family.
Favorite Author/Historical Thinker
Phillis Wheatley. Phillis was a slave during the Revolutionary War. She was also an amazing poet- her first book of poems was published in 1774. She studied Latin, geography and mathematics- much like our scholars! She is an inspirational and fascinating historical figure who overcame all odds and used her fortitude to change the perception of people all over the world.
Favorite Books
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Favorite Work of Art
Any of Theo Jansen’s kinetic sculptures.
Favorite quote
“I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only make them think.”-Socrates
