- Nova’s mission: In a nurturing, small-school environment, and through the use of an academically accelerated and enriched curriculum, we offer learners a rigorous, thorough, systematic, challenging, college-preparatory education in the classical tradition.
- Nova is a public, charter school -- nonsectarian and tuition-free.
- Nova is a parent-initiated school with a parent-majority board. It began with a small group or parents who felt that public school students should have access to the same quality of education as many private school students.
- Nova students achieve some of the highest test scores in Minnesota -- in many cases the highest.
- Nova students wear uniforms.
- Nova is currently a K-8 school, adding 9th grade in 2009 with plans to expand to K-12.
- Nova is open to all Minnesotans, just like the state’s other charter schools. We provide no-cost transportation to any St. Paul resident living more than two miles from school.
- Nova treats all on-time applications equally, without academic admission requirements or geographic preference
- Nova is committed to small class sizes: 20 students per class in Kindergarten, 22 in Grades 1 and 2, and 24 in Grades 3 and higher.
